Bella,
you have always been an enigma to me, so very different from me but so complimentary. When you came along with your sweetness, you filled in a void in our family we didn't even know we had. You are yin to my yang. Your kind soul is a blessing to all in your presence, please never lose that. Here are some things I'd like to share with you before you leave the nest, I hope one day they make sense to you (and hopefully you understand them before you NEED to know them).
Above all, know God. He will be there for you when it seems no one else is. And in all things, know He has a plan for you. He knew you in the womb and knows all your days. Every pain along the way is to teach you something. Use the hurt to grow yourself into a better version of you, you will be amazed at what you will become. Also, make sure you have a close inner circle of friends that are believers. Everyone has dips in their faith. Its during these moments that your friends will carry you through with their own faith and see you to the other side.
Spend money wisely. Don't chase after what other people have, as its not what you need to be truly happy and the joy of the purchase is short-lived.
Spend time discovering who YOU are before you ever go off and try to be with someone else. This ensures you will always be true to yourself, even if it means parting ways with the someone else. I strongly recommend not committing permanently to anyone you haven't been with for at least 2 years. The blinding lust phase usually wears off by then and you can see that person for their true self. This isn't a magic bullet, you may still get hurt in love. But LOVE is what makes life worth it, so don't shy away from all it can offer. Every heartbreak you suffer carves your heart out a little more, so you can love deeper the next round.
Dress to impress only yourself and wear makeup only if it makes you happy. You are beautiful for whats inside you, it is the ONLY beauty that lasts. Spend every day working not towards beautiful, but BEAUTY FULL.
While I recommend being reasonably frugal with your money, some things are worth spending money on. Fine dining, good wine, traveling, cultural events. More than just "things", these are memories in the making and are best when shared with a friend.
Every woman should have a good one of these:

Every woman should have a good one of these:
- Hair stylist - the money doesn't matter because a good haircut is priceless
- Masseuse - YES, you DO deserve it. Get one regularly.
- Doctor/gynecologist - Find one you trust and can talk to even about the "uncomfortable" things. See them at least yearly, it could save your life one day.
Never miss an opportunity to pay a compliment. Be it hair, clothes, makeup, a smile - if you noticed it, tell them. It may just be the nicest thing they hear all day.
Tip well for good service, I'm talking at least 20%. Trust me, they earned it.
Wherever you end up, the first thing to do in your new town is find the library and get a card. A library card is a gift that can open up worlds you may never be able to physically reach and allow you to experience circumstances without the risk of actually living them. This can grow and shape you emotionally to prepare you for when your own life takes down turns. Reading is power, use it wisely.
Never be afraid to make a fool of yourself. Be it dancing, singing, reading stories to your kids with funny voices. Do it like no one else is watching.
No one ever did anything worthwhile sitting on the sideline of life. Take risks, make mistakes, be willing to start a new adventure even if you "don't think you're ready yet". The best teacher of all is EXPERIENCE. This is the tool you will use to hone you into your best self.
All my love,
Mom
PS-Never plant mint in your garden, that shit is harder to kill than cockroaches.
