What the flag means to me.... By Bella Littler

Even now, I can picture it: the grand red, white, and blue striped flag. A symbol of hope, love, and freedom. The flag encourages others to stand up for what is right and thanks the brave, courageous veterans who have helped make America what it is today. It provides hope for those who are struggling in hard times. Many Americans honor the flag, and they all have different reasons why the flag, the symbol of America, is something we should be proud of.

To me, the flag shows hope. Hope is something many people lack. By just looking at the flag, you should feel hopeful. If the Americans can win a war, then of course you can get through hard times! The flag is a sign of encouragement, cheering you on, even when life gets rough.

The flag also shows love. It represents the love our soldiers have for their country, enough to be willing to die for its freedom. The flag is a symbol of love for the families who have suffered great loss.

And finally, the flag shows freedom. It points out that even if we have different religions, skin colors, or beliefs, we deserve to live peacefully. The flag shows America is a free country without rulers, kings, or queens. It also expresses the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated.

The flag encourages people every day and makes Americans feel safe and brave. It gives people hope, even when they are in rough times. The flag proudly states that our country is a safe, free nation, full of love, hope, and brave soldiers that risk their lives to protect us. I hope our beautiful nation lasts forever and our majestic flag continues to wave.
