A good friend shared this past week over a coffee the simple yet powerful concept of "one little word", coined by Ali Edwards. You select a word of intention to focus yourself around in the upcoming year. You use it to set your mind, body, and spirit on the journey of growth you want to embrace over the course of the year.
I LOVED this idea!
It had the New Year's resolution spirit without the baggage of guilt that goes with it when we don't meet all those good intentions. A reflection around a single word will expand itself and redefine as needed with the realities of life. As I work towards rebuilding my inner resources in 2018, daily mediation was already in my plan. Here was a way I could really focus that intention!
Now to pick just 1 word...
WHEW. This was harder than I thought?!?
Luckily, my friend recognized that for us type A personalities, we are gonna drive ourselves crazy to find that right answer and was kind enough to suggest I not overdo the "finding" and instead let the word find me.
So over the past week, I've listened to the words that would pop up in the quiet spaces of my life. Each one held some merit, so they got put on the "maybe" list.
Words like: grow, thrive, be, breathe, give, love....
And then I had a date night with another good friend last night. She gave me such a wonderful gift for Christmas and unknowingly gave me my 2018 word! As soon as I unwrapped the present, I knew it was "the one". Thanks Jess!!!
I'm on a journey for 2018. And I give myself permission to WANDER in the pursuit of my purpose.

What will be your one word?
Guys would be well advised to engage the discipline so well executed by ladies of developing connections with peers that bi-directionally invest, challenge, encourage and support one another.
