I love getting to see how my kids' personalities have evolved into their unique selves as they have grown. They are so very different from each other but those differences are the things I love most about each of them.
Isaac is so damned smart and has such a great acerbic sense of humor. I enjoy his ability to build a completely logical argument around a subject by stringing together asinine facts and his own (deluded) opinion. I spent a good half hour this last week discussing with him why "media pirating" was wrong. He assured me there were reasons why this should be allowed. His main argument revolved around it being "okay" if no one was hurt. He even went so far as to fabricate an example where an unknown game developer had his program pirated, but the piracy helped the game to become world famous. In the end, per this example, the piracy was to the developer's betterment. Hmm, points for creativity! While none of his examples were able to sway me, his passionate desire to convince me otherwise was nothing short of admirable. I hope some of this has rubbed off on me and I'll be able to use it in negotiations with my customer at work this week??
I find whenever I need a pick-me-up, Bella is my instant cure. She has this amazing ability to ignore the rest of the world and just dance to her own internal song, often literally. We made a run to Target mid-week and she did lyrical dance moves all the way through the parking lot into the building. I hope she never outgrows this free-spiritedness, as it is the very essence of beauty to me. If she is awake, she is singing or dancing or creating; she inspires me to tap into this part of my soul every day. We will be performing together tonight in the bathroom (great acoustics!), working on our acapella duet of Bulletproof ala Pitch Perfect!
