New year, new plans!

Well I just finished re-reading my 2015 New Year's resolutions and I'm a bit disappointed in my progress on the 2015 list.  Which of course makes me think that the plan was, in reality, just a poor plan. :o)  I'm nothing if not overly ambitious.  I think my goals this year are a little more realistic (and yes, sadly some of them are the same?!?)

Fitness goal:
Add in weight training 2x per week consistently (not.... consistently until march, then 1x through May then... dust settling on weights, guilt trip from account-abili-buddy, weights twice the next week, then more dust....)  I do my best to build in accountability traps to ensure I can't self-sabotage.  Weight training accountability trap? Get teenaged son interested in weight training and he will nag you till you do it.  I treated Isaac and I to an early present and bought a weight rack to go with my bench, Merry Christmas healthy me!

Education goal:
Read 2 books a month, 1 for bookclub and 1 just for pleasure reading.  I really need to start whittling DOWN my goodreads list, as it seems to be growing exponentially?  So many good books, so little time!

Personal growth goal:
Block time on my calendar for creating weekly.  In order to make this feasible, I recognize I need to give up something to free up time.  So... I am giving up social media.  GULP.  We will see if this resolution sticks?  I deactivated my Facebook account today, here's hoping it has the net positive effect I'm hoping for!

Three goals. That sounds small yet attainable.  :o)

If I get bored, here are some bucket list "maybes" I'm stewing on:

  • Women's campout weekend (I've had several friends ask if they could go next time, might just start a camping retreat?)
  • Pigman Long Course Triathalon (falls into the borderline crazy list)
  • December Fire and Ice Caroling Competition, or optionally take lessons this fall so I can be in Merry Tuba Christmas??  Obviously caroling would be easier logistically with less time & money commitments.   I'm taking auditions now, you know you want to be on my team!!!
